It was a chilly March afternoon for Bailey’s session. This Beagle mix, took second place in the Cutest Dog in Columbus contest that I ran in February. The session started out like most, with me getting to know the 5 1/2 month old puppy and what noises, treats, etc. would get her attention. What a sweet, curious and energetic dog she is! By the way, her owner Ashley, makes the most amazing chicken-like noise to get Bailey’s attention. I may need to hire her as an assistant for when I take dog photographs.
Things became interesting very quickly at this session! We were in a small parking lot for a few photos and Bailey spotted another dog and wanted to go see him. While Bailey was pulling on her leash, her new collar snapped apart and off she went to check out the other dog. The other dog’s owner kept her in place while we we went over to get her. With her collar back on, we continued on and next thing you know, she’s pulling the leash and her collar snaps again! Luckily, no dog or people were injured during all of this. Ashley realized that Bailey’s new collar was faulty and that the snap stayed in place with a light tug, but when you really pulled on it, it unlatched. Good thing that Posh Pets Boutique was close by and Ashley was able to get an identical OSU collar for Bailey. With her new collar in place, we headed over to Goodale park for the rest of the session. Needless to say, we all learned a big lesson during this session to double check any new leashes and collars as soon as they are purchased!
Even with all the collar drama, we had a great session and I was able to capture this curious pup checking out the world around her. We had an extremely interesting and fun afternoon. Thanks to Bailey and her pet parents for coming out!
The second shot is amazing! The bokeh is unreal.
I love your dog portraits! This dog is too cute for words.
