Your senior year will be jam packed – touring potential college campuses; football, basketball and all the other must-see games at your school; too much homework; dances; extracurricular activities; and heck just finding time to hang out with family and friends! That’s one busy school year! Why add one more thing to the list, when you can have your senior photos taken before the hustle and bustle of the school year!
The Summer between your Junior and Senior year is the perfect time to have your senior photos scheduled. Yes, it seems a little early, but so many of my clients are thrilled when it’s taken care of and they have at least one thing checked off their senior “to-do” list. Especially since many of the schools in the Mahoning, Columbiana and Trumbull counties require yearbook photos to be submitted as early as October or as late as January. Why rush when it comes to scheduling your senior photos? In the Summer you’ll probably be a little sun-kissed with color, have a lot more free time to plan and prepare, and the weather won’t be as crazy as it is in the Fall.
The other reason to schedule in the Summer the flexibility of getting the day and time you want! My schedule quickly books up for the Fall. In the past, I’ve had to turn down clients when I’ve been booked to capacity. A lot of people put off or even forget about getting their photos done until the Fall. They either want Autumn colors or realize the yearbook deadline is just a few weeks away. I only take a limited number of clients every year, so once those spots are gone, there’s nothing I can do to squeeze people in.
The best part of Summer photos is the longer days. Since most clients opt for on-location photographs, the longer days are a huge benefit. Sessions can be scheduled early evening when the temperatures cool down a little, and the light is gorgeous for photographs.
