I met up with Jeannie and her beautiful dog, Mandy, at Blacklick Woods for an Essential Pet Photography Session. The park was pretty quiet that afternoon, which was fantastic because we were able to have her off leash for many of the photographs. Some of the photos will be a gift for Jeannie’s husband’s birthday. I love when clients give the gift of pet photography! Photographs are a great way to capture your pet’s personality and spirit. And seriously, what’s better than seeing the recipient open up gifts that has stunning portraits of their best friend?

Mandy is a beautiful 10-year-old shelter mix. Since she was a rescue, her pet parents are not sure exactly what breed she is. They believe she is possibly a Flat-Coated Retriever and Border Collie mix. Whatever combination Mandy is, she certainly was overwhelmed by all the new smells at the park. So much so, that she had zero interest in playing with her toys! Her mom was really looking forward to having a few photographs of her with her favorite toys, so I had a little plan even though she wasn’t in the mood to play with them. At the end of the session when she was tired, we had her lay on the ground and placed her toys around her. Good thing this dog got a workout at the beginning of the photo shoot!
