Over the summer I donated a portrait package for the Citizens for Humane Action’s (CHA) Picnic with the Pups silent auction. CHA is a northeast Columbus nonprofit animal shelter that provides safe, temporary shelter and care for homeless dogs and cats. Susan was the winner of the auction and selected her own CHA rescue dog, Cricket, to be photographed this past weekend.
When Susan and I were planning her session, she told me that Cricket was afraid of pretty much anything that moves or makes noises. We decided that Friendship Park in Gahanna would be a good location for portraits since it isn’t a very busy park compared to others in the area. Luckily, there were only a handful of people in the park and plenty of areas to photograph with little interruptions. Cricket is a very sweet, but very shy 5-year-old Yorkshire Terrier. I tried to bribe her with dog treats, but she was not impressed! I could throw her treats, but this pup refused to get close to me to actually take one. As long as I kept a little distance from her, Cricket was happy and that made me a happy photographer. Although this Yorkie was super shy, I was able to create some unique dog portraits of her for Susan.
Awww-these made my heart happy! Cricket is adorable and has the cutest ears ever! Lovely work!
What a cute doggie. I love them tiny. Nice work!
What a peanut! So very cute!
She just couldn’t be any cuter, and I love how you’ve captured her here. Great dog portraits!
She is so stinkin’ cute!! I love the light in her eyes.
What an adorable yorkie! Love your pet photography Danielle. You would never know how shy this little one was.
