I was excited when Laurie contacted me about photographing her two dogs as Images For A Cure sessions. Two great things rolled into one sitting, supporting Breast Cancer Research and photographing dogs!! My first glimpse of Lola and Tippy was from the other end of the parking lot and my first thought was happy dogs ahead! Lola is a beautiful and extremely playful 6 year-old Golden Retriever. She had such a fun temperament that I would have thought she was much younger! Lola was ready to check everything out at Boardman Park that day. At one point during the session, she came over and snagged the entire bag of treats out of the pocket of my jeans! Without a doubt this eager to please dog kept me on my feet during her photos.
On the other hand, Tippy, being 15-years-old, was not into her portrait session. Part Border Collie and part Blue Heeler, she had other things on her mind. Laurie wasn’t too sure that I’d be able to even get a photograph of Tippy because she wanted nothing to do with the whole production. But in the end, I was able to capture a few photographs of this darling dog.
I had a great time photographing both these dogs and I’m glad that Laurie scheduled their portraits with me! I’m also thrilled that our time together helped to raise funds for Breast Cancer Research as well!
