Of course it would be snowing in Northeast Ohio in mid-April. We were really hoping to have Lilly’s First Communion photo session outdoors, but wonderful Mother Nature had other plans for us. I think everyone can agree that this has been the worst never ending Winter in a long time. It worked out perfectly that we did the portraits at the Boardman studio.

This may have been the first time in years that I had the chance to photograph Lilly without her little brother, James, there. And it went fantastically well without the little guy distracting her! As usual, we were totally silly and had a great time during the session. Lilly did amazing and looked beautiful in her First Communion dress.

Mom and I did have repeated issues with the tiara and hair combs. Luckily, there were three different sizes of combs and wouldn’t you know, it was the last set of combs we tried that worked the best.

And then there was the rug. I purchased a super soft rug for portrait sessions. I think every client that touches the rug falls in love with it. Lilly was asking where I purchased it because she wanted one of her very own. This rug must be what it is like to lay on clouds – it really is that soft. By the end of the session, little Miss was just laying on the rug, ready to stay at the studio for a nap!
