Mother Nature has gotten the best of me with this year’s dog photo calendar contest! But we’re *almost* done photographing all the dogs! I only have one more left on the schedule. I would have never thought it would take me three months to do all the photos. But the crazy Youngstown weather has certainly put a damper on my calendar!
First up is Hoss! This adorable one-year-old was pulled by No Fear Rescue from the Mahoning County Dog Pound in February. He had some serious medical issues including being ignored with Prothorax. Luckily, this pup is a fighter, and he quickly recovered! He was also recently adopted! He had a very good time at the park for his photo session, and I’m sure he took a big nap when he got home!
Next up is Posey. Oh, those ears!! This cutie was also a former resident of the Mahoning County Dog Pound. She was at the pound for 12 months!! I was shocked that such a sweet dog was there so long. But she did not do well in the shelter, and the stress made her a little anxious for when potential adopters went to see her. But, Posey hit the jack pot and found a forever home that is perfect for her.
I love these wonderful success stories of dogs that were in the pound but with the help of Friends of Fido, have found their people. Charlie is no different! He was found as a stray and taken to the pound in 2012. Charlie had his initial adoption not long after arriving at the pound, but it didn’t work out. The silver lining is that a friend of the adopted family’s relative paired the two families up and Charlie quickly had his perfect family!!
Finally on today’s blog is Tyson! Tyson was a rescue from New Lease On Life. Tyson is just a pup as well and was around six months old for his photos. I would have never guessed he was so young while working with him. Tyson is very chill. He just hung out and let me do my thing while he mugged it up. This dog was just too cute!
