Lordstown High School Senior Portraits: Meet Preston

As we all know, most guys only have their high school senior portraits done to 1. have a yearbook photo and 2. make their parent’s happy. Preston is one of those guys. But with some time, jokes and fun, by the end of his photo session, he admitted it was not so bad.

Matt, Preston’s dad, is the owner and chef one of my favorite restaurants in town, Yolo Grille in Canfield. (Side note: if you have never been to Yolo, stop in, it is fantastic!) We decided that The B&O Station in Downtown Youngstown would be a perfect backdrop for the photographs. A lot of urban with brick architecture and a great area of greenery near the Mahoning River. Matt had worked downtown for many years while Preston was little. Being Downtown offered a nice touch of family history for the photo session.

A typical high school senior, Preston was not sure what to think of the whole process. It only took about 15 minutes for me to put him at ease and the fake smiles and uncomfortable poses were long gone. Being the jokester, he even had a woman that was walking by jump in one of the photographs with him. We had a great time walking the grounds of the former train station. Did you know that it is listed in National Historical Society Register?

Preston is a senior at Lordstown High School and quite the basketball player. He is hoping to head to Florida for college and continue playing basketball there. I am a little jealous of that year-round warmth, but they don’t have beautiful Autumns like we do in Ohio!

I am so glad that Preston and his parents decided to have me create his high school senior portraits. It was such a fun time with him and his parents. Check out a few of the images from his session below.
