No matter what the breed, age or personality, I love dogs! And what better way to show my love than capturing my clients’ beautiful furbabies as a piece of art for their home.
I’ve always loved dogs, and for as long as I can remember, there’s usually been at least one in my life. Growing up, we usually had a dog in the house. While I was living in Columbus, I didn’t have a dog, but my roommate did! And of course, I married someone who was as much of a dog lover as I am.
When I first started my business, dog photography was never on the radar, I planned on being a wedding photographer. After assisting other photographers, it didn’t take long for me to realize that wasn’t my cup of tea. I moved on to portraits and I was happy to do them. But then I heard there was a dog photography workshop being held in Chicago. After the urging of my mom and husband, I hopped on a flight and was in for a fun-filled weekend of wet kisses and fur! I loved ever minute of the workshop and knew that pet photography was a perfect fit for me.
Over the years, I’ve adjusted my business to what best fits my style of photography and what I love to photograph. So here we are in 2017 and I only offer high school senior portraits and dog photography. I’ve always lived by the rule that I didn’t want to be “a Jack of all trades and master of none.” Sure, I could photograph most things people request, and I have certainly loved trying something new. But I wanted to focus my business on what I love doing … photographing dogs.
Give me a hyper dog and I’m happy to chase them around. Bashful dog, no problem, I’ll sit and talk quietly with them and give a belly rub till they’re calm and ready to go. Oh and if you’re in the park and hear strange noises, it may be me trying to get the perfect head tilt.
I want to create beautiful images of your dog, your best friend, your faithful companion. I want to create amazing images that show off their personality that you can cherish for years to come!
