Last round of dogs that I photographed for the Friends of Fido 2018 calendar contest! This is one of my favorite things to do as a dog photographer. Keep an eye out; these will be going on sale in late Fall and make great gifts for the holidays for any pet lovers that you know! 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the calendar (and from the online voting that took place in the Spring) goes directly to Friends of Fido!
First up on today’s blog is Roxy!! I’ve known Roxy and her sister Maddy for a few years. These two dogs are a hoot! So different, but they don’t like to be apart from each other. You would never know that she was rescued from a home where she was neglected. Jessica and Larry have worked with her so much and she is now super laid back and listens really well. Roxy rocked her photos!
And then there’s Roxy’s sister, Maddy. Maddy was also neglected before Jessica and Larry adopted her. Maddy makes me laugh. She had her own agenda during her photo session! She was on a mission and it had nothing to do with the calendar photos! I told Jessica as long as we got just one good shot for the calendar, that’s all I needed. I wish I would have had more time with Maddy to capture a ton of great images, but the calendar photos are super quick sessions!
Meet Daisy!! This fun Airedale was less than six months old when I took her calendar photos. So much energy from one dog! She had a fun time romping around Boardman Park for her photos. For being so young, she did really well with the camera.
Finally, meet Lilly! How cute is this adorable 3-year old! Lilly has had some skin issues lately and we had to postpone her initially scheduled photos. Lilly’s skin cleared up a little before the photos, but she still was having some problems. And the grass at Boardman Park felt sooooo good on her body. So she just rolled around on the grass … A Lot! Anything to make yourself feel better!! Lilly was a stray and Legacy Dog Rescue found her. She was a “foster fail” because her foster parents became her forever parents!! She is so sweet and good natured, no wonder why she was quickly kept by her parents!
That’s all for the calendar dogs for now! I have one more winner that I’m trying to get scheduled. As soon as he’s done, I can start working on the calendar layout!!
