Last week I made my monthly visit to Alchemy Acres in Salem, Ohio. It was a “light” day with just over 20 pets to photograph. I was shocked that there were only two cats on the list that day to photograph. Normally I photograph as many cats as dogs, if not more!
Oh how I love the puppies. And there was a litter of 7 little furballs for me to photograph. So sweet, so cute and so ornery! Little puppy kisses and nibbles greeted me when I walked over to meet them. What a fun bunch the “K” litter was. Every personality a little different, from shyness to dominate behavior with each other. But they all wanted attention and love!
After I photographed the “K” litter, I got to meet some other wonderful dogs and more puppies. My favorite of the day had to be Royce. We went outside for Royce’s photos because I knew he was a little too energetic to be on the table for photographs. Royce was all over the place and for the life of me, I couldn’t get that little boy’s attention. Then I decided to start making noises. Well low and behold that got his attention. So much so, that he started howling. If anyone would have walked up at that point they would have surely wondered what was going on. Sweet little Royce howling at the top of his lungs while I was doing the same. I am sure we were quite the site together, making silly noises! In the end, I got some great shots of my new little buddy and his wrinkly face.
Take a peak at all the wonderful dogs and the few cats in search of new homes. If you have a spot in your life for a new best friend, or know someone that does — visit the Alchemy Acres website for more information.
