George and I went to Mexico last week and with any vacation, it just wasn’t long enough! Thanks to Marcy from Discount Charter Vacations, we stayed at the Iberostar Paraíso Beach hotel which is located just a few minutes from Playa del Carmen in the Riviera Maya. I have to give a shout-out to Marcy because our trip was originally planned for August, but I had to get a tooth pulled (eek!) so we re-scheduled and re-planned everything for September. She was so helpful and even got us into a better resort for the same price as my sorry attempt to book myself for the first trip. Marcy and her husband Frank run their travel agency just outside of Pittsburgh, PA and they have been super to work with! I highly recommend them if you’re planning a trip and you don’t need to live in Pittsburgh for their help.
This was rest and relaxation vacation for George and I, so we never left the resort during our stay! September falls during the rain and hurricane season in Mexico and while we did have some heavy rains, it wasn’t as bad as a rainy day in Columbus. The resort was only at 30-40% capacity for most of our stay because of the season, so it was like having the place to ourselves. The workers at Iberostar were fantastic and I have nothing but great things to say about our trip. I am kicking myself for not taking one of my better cameras to take photographs, but I did have my handy point and shoot to capture some photos of the amazing resort. Below are some of the fun images I captured and yes, I really wanted to take that little monkey home that I got my photo with!
Now it’s time to get back to work with my busy season in full swing. I still have 2 open sessions available for October and I’m also currently booking for November portrait sessions. High school seniors, don’t forget yearbook photo deadlines will be fast approaching – so be sure to book your session in time!! Also, this is an excellent time of year for family, children and pet portraits for holiday cards and gifts. The leaves are quickly changing colors here in Central Ohio, which makes for a stunning backdrop for portraits. Look for a blog post in the next week about this year’s Images for a Cure special sessions at the end of October.
