We Need Homes … Please! Adoptable Pets in Columbus

I had a great opportunity this week to start working with Pets Without Parents. They are a no-kill, nonprofit rescue for dogs and cats, located in Clintonville. PWP receives no tax funding and exists solely on the generosity of the Columbus area community. Last year, PWP found homes for 327 cats and 432 dogs, that’s 759 animals that have found loving owners!

I’ve been reaching out to local shelters and rescue groups about creating better pet portraits for online animal listings like Petfinder. A great photograph can grab the heart of a potential adoption family and get that animal one step closer to their furever home. Professional photography can greatly improve the chance of an animal being adopted. One of the most worthwhile things I can do with my photography is helping to photograph the homeless animals in Columbus. I’ve personally spent many hours looking around Petfinder. Some of the images on there do the dogs and cats no justice. In some of the photos, you can hardly tell what the dog looks like. Hopefully, more photographers will also reach out to rescue organizations to help improve the photographs of the animals that need homes.

Here are just a few of the beautiful dogs and cats currently at PWP. These boys and girls are in need of loving homes, maybe you could help out. I fell in love with Hansel when I first stopped by the rescue. He’s the most handsome Labrador Retriever/Pit Bull Terrier Mix. When I met him last week, his sister Gretel was also there. I’m happy to say when I went back, Gretel had been adopted! Hopefully Hansel will find his furever home soon, as well as all the other pets I photographed.

If you are involved with a rescue in Central Ohio and feel professional photos of your animals would assist them in finding their furever homes — please contact me at info@danielleneil.comand we’ll chat about how I can help your group out.

This is a wonderful cause for you to donate your skills to, Danielle. The images are irresistible, and I’m sure that your professional portraits of these beautiful cats and dogs will help them to find forever homes soon!

  • Lovely images of these sweeties that need homes. Those little eyes are just pleading for someone to take them home. Such a wonderful gift you give to this shelter by photographing these animals without parents (yet)

I am so glad to have found this blog—I adopted Josephine [image 10 in this blog] from PWP (now named Riley) and the pic you took of her is adorable. This was actually posted about two days after I took her home. She was 11 weeks in the picture and is now almost 9 months old.
